Festival Montréal Baroque is recruiting choirs for Vivaldi’s Gloria!

For the third year running, following the success of last year’s splendid Triumph of Time and Truth, Festival Montréal Baroque takes great pleasure in inviting you and your choir to join us in a performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria, with Matthias Maute, Ensemble Caprice, TENET Vocal Artists (New York), international soloists and the Ensemble vocal Arts-Québec.


When and where? For the grand opening of the Festival’s 17th edition on Thursday June 20 2019 at 7pm, SPREZZATURA VENEZIANA at the Church of the Madonna della Difesa in Montreal’s Little Italy (6800 Henri Julien Avenue, Montreal, QC H2S 2V4)


Dress-rehearsal – Wednesday June 19 from 6pm to 7pm at the Church of the Madonna della Difesa


Monday June 3 and Monday June 10 from 7 to 8.30pm - Preparatory choral rehearsals with Marc-Olivier Lacroix  (choir leader) and Jean-Francois Major (piano) at the Église Unie Saint-Jean (110 St Catherine St E, Montreal, QC H2X 1K7)


What will you sing? You will be participating in creating a majestic surround sound experience for:

Gloria (No1)

Domine Deus (No.8)

Quoniam tu solus sanctus (No.11)

Cum sancto spiritu (No.12)

How: If you and/or your choir would like to join us, please contact the Festival by May 17 2019 (choriste.montrealbaroque@gmail.com) with the following information:

1.    Name of choir

2.    Number of singers, clearly indicating SATB


Please note that registration by choir is preferable. We would appreciate having one contact person per choir to facilitate ease of communications.

The score to print out will be provided with the confirmation of registration. 

Cost of participation:

In return for this exceptional opportunity to create a unique performance with a professional orchestra, soloists and choir, each participating chorister pays a $20 fee.  A discount is available for choristers on the purchase of tickets for the concert, and other Festival concerts.
