World-renowned, south American tenor, Rodrigo del Pozo, in his début recital in Montreal featuring a savoury mix of South American & European baroque music. Accompanied by his friends Eric Milnes (harpsichord) , Daniel Zuluaga (guitar) & Mélisande Corriveau (viola de gamba), the concert features works by Purcell, Santa Cruz, Charpentier, Hidalgo, and much more! This free concert will be at the Casa Mateo where the inn keeper will offer a special menu for Montreal Baroquers. .

VIVALDI'S MOTEZUMA DE VIVALDI : MONTREAL PREMIERE
New Worlds will begin with Motezuma, a story of love, loss, deceit and defeat, in a new-worldly production; the ink is just drying as Matthias Maute dots the last notes in his newly composed score for certain arias lost in the mists of time, while the computer artists and projectionists create the visuals for a new-wave, hi-tech production..
CREATION with DANCERS & ACROBATS
Jean-Féry Rebel's extraordinary ballet Elemens and its' musical depiction of the most controversial biblical story that pits science against religion. Baroque ballet, Comedia del Arte and circus arts will meld in this production, under the direction of Eric Milnes, to end the 2013 festival with a Big Bang!
GRANDS VOYAGES
With NOUVEAUX MONDES/New Worlds, l’ensemble Constantinople will present a kaleidoscope of musical influences from eastern and western hemispheres.
In LES CITÉS D’OR/Cities of Gold, l’Harmonie des Saisons brings us to Mexico, Bogota, Lima, Quito, Puebla, vibrant, sophisticated, cultural centers where European invasions and Christianization inspired a unique music.
INTIMATES CONCERTS
In SALSA, Bresilian recorder player Cléa Galhano will enchant with baroque South American Musics. The Festival has also invited, for their Montreal Debut. Mexican ensemble La Fontegara, masters of the music by Manuel de Zumaya (1678-1755). The Voix humaines Consort will celebrate the 450th anniversary of the birth of John Dowland in 1563 with his most celebrated work LACHRIMAE, based on the song Flow my Tears, figured in seven passionate pavans of love and pain.
EXPLORATIONS... OF EMERGING ARTS & ARTISTS
New groups are given carte blanche to experiment with old music in a new world. Among them, Aleks Schürmer (who'm La Presse's Claude Gingras described by as "brilliant") will meld baroque and pop music to create a new idiom. In Pop d’époque, cantatas by Clérambault and Courbois will be sampled to create a backdrop for a performance by baroque musicians and pop singers. Welcome a new world!
DISCOVERIES... OF UPCOMING ARTISTS
The Festival has always offered a great opportunity for upcoming artists. This year's young performers include Pallade Musica, 1st Prize Winner of the Early Music America Baroque Performance Competition in 2012; and Mark Edwards, the 2012 Winner of the Bruges Festival Competition.
